The M.O.T. program was approved in 2008 by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia. It currently holds Developing Program Status with the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association. The process is timed so that a new program may achieve full accreditation before its first class graduates (see the calendar of accreditation activities below).
